Years ago while on one of our tours, my wife and daughter and I got an opportunity to visit New Orleans, Louisiana. We enjoyed roaming the streets of the French Quarter with the stores and shops and all the wondrous sights the city offered. The music was wonderful . . . that town literally sings. I was impressed by the street musicians, especially these four youngsters who were performing in front of the Saint Louis Cathedral. One young man kept rhythm on a make shift drum of a smashed can, two played trombone on assorted parts, while another chimed in with song and dance. It was amazing how great they sounded as they played in the unbearable hot summer day. I caught them during a short break and got the photo reference I needed for the truly, Birth of the Blues. |
