Indiana rates second in the United States for having more covered bridges than all other states.  Parke County alone, boast of 32 of the 92 covered bridges in the state plus it has 2 working grist mills. This is the Mansfield Roller Mill, built in 1819, and is one of my favorites.  It’s covered bridge spans the Raccoon Creek which  was one of the main means of transportation long before roads were even built in the state.   Along with my Dad and Brothers, we have painted this old mill and bridge in about every season and angle of perspective.
