A couple of years ago my wife Coleen and I were on a motorcycle touring vacation out west with a group of our friends. It was a wonderful experience. We always enjoy visiting a total change in environment and this wonderful country has everything an artist could ask for.  We had just finished our 3rd day of riding and were unpacking the bike in our motel parking lot in Trinidad, Colorado. Surprisingly this inquisitive bird popped out of the shrubs about five feet away and commences to investigate our Harley.  I recognized it immediately and grabbed my camera before it flew, or ran, away.  I got off several shots and was thrilled to death, this was my first encounter with a roadrunner and I was able to get some great reference photos.  I have been holding off for a special occasion to paint it and finally the timing was perfect.  My work was recently again accepted into the Settlers West Galleries Miniature show in Tucson Arizona and I thought this would be a good entry.
