There is a certain quiet, and stillness brought on with winter, especially with a soft snow blanket protecting everything beneath while muffling out any sharp sounds.  All is quiet and still except for an occasional call from neighboring birds in search of food and  awaiting springtime to return bringing everything back to life.  I=ve attempted to capture this feeling of lingering winter with watercolors in this painting of the old barns along Highway 252 just outside of the beautiful town of Martinsville, Indiana.
